Michael Burns

SSG Mike Burns, was deployed to Iraq 3 times during his 10 years in the Army. While serving as a Military Police NCO in 2003, SSG Burns was injured during an IED clearing operations by low lying power lines resulting in his electrocution and severe trauma and burns to his neck, head and back. In November 2003, SSG Burns received serious wounds to his leg and back as a result of a mortar and rocket attack. In 2015, Mike’s leg was amputated. SSG Burns and his family of 6, were awarded a home in Abilene, Texas.
