Army Specialist Chris Sanford

While on patrol in Iraq in 2008, Chris Sanford suffered severe injuries after an IED discharged near his platoon.

In addition to his physical injuries, Chris also suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

His recovery is as inspiring as it is miraculous. Today Chris aspires to become a nurse in order to help other men and women who suffer from these types of injuries.

His wife Christine, a science teacher at Knox Jr. High in The Woodlands, has begun preparing him for his courses.
