RE/MAX RedZone Warrior 5K Run nets more than $4,000 for TSF wounded warrior

5K Set UpEven before the sun came up on Saturday morning, volunteers from RE/MAX RedZone in Harker Heights were busy setting up the running course, filling tables with post-race refreshments and registering last minute runners for the Warrior Run 5K in Harker Heights Community Park. All the hard work paid off as more than $4,000 was raised to help fund a newly remodeled home in Belton for SGT Paul Podhorn and his wife, Karen. SGT Podhorn was selected by the Texas Sentinels Foundation as the latest home recipient last month. RE/MAX RedZone of Harker Heights agents have stepped up to serve as the Texas Sentinels Foundation Home Team Ambassadors.

The Texas Sentinels Foundation, a Texas based not for profit, 501(c)(3), provides 100% debt-free, mortgage-free, fully furnished, ADA compliant homes and Life Scholarships for qualified post 9/11 wounded warriors throughout the state of Texas. In 2013, the Foundation has awarded five homes with another home recipient yet to be announced.

SGT Paul Podhorn, 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, was shot in the head by an Iraqi insurgent on August 26, 2011. Paul was partially paralyzed on his right side told he may never walk again but with the constant love and support of his wife Karen and his stubborn determination to prove his doctors wrong, Paul devoted himself to extensive rehabilitation.
