Our Heroes Support Networks
The Texas Sentinels Foundation program is dedicated to providing not only new homes, but a new life to the men and women who have selflessly given on behalf of their country. As a country and as united communities it is our responsibility to honor these American Heroes by providing for them once they return from war.
See below the extraordinary groups of men and women in communities all across Texas that are helping these True American Heroes of the Texas Sentinels Foundation realize thier families dreams and goals.

Jorge De Leon Support Team – San Antonio The San Antonio Team, led by RE/MAX Preferred Realtor Patsy Oakley, stepped up to the plate in supporting our first Texas Sentinel Jorge De Leon, and they met each challenge with determination and a focus on the end result. Tilson Homes also stepped up as the builder of Jorge’s home and remained at the heart of the project, coordinating and recruiting suppliers and contractors to get the home built. The San Antonio Texas Sentinels Team worked hand in hand with Tilson Homes, organizing fundraisers and involvement in existing community events. Through the Team effort, Texas Sentinels was a beneficiary of prestigious annual charity events in San Antonio and statewide, including The RE/MAX San Antonio Golf Tournament, a special auction fundraiser at Billy Bob’s Texas in Forth Worth, and the San Antonio Monster Mash charity event which takes place every October. The team also organized several cocktail reception fundraisers at Klusoz Martini & Tapas Bar. Outside of formal event fundraisers, team members promoted their cause and solicited individual donations from across San Antonio, leveraging contacts to get the word out about the project and soliciting the community for support. The team and Tilson Homes saw their hard work bear fruit when Jorge De Leon and his family were formally awarded their completed custom home on December 3, 2010, just 14 months after the announcement that the De Leon family would receive the Texas Sentinel Foundation Life Scholarship. Johnny Wilson Support Team – DFW Area It was on a cold December morning that Johnny Wilson and his family learned they would be receiving a new home from the Texas Sentinel Foundation, an effort that would be led by Kristina Hayes, Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Masters in Southlake. As leader, Kristina organized a team of supporters that ultimately made the promised Arlington home a reality for the Wilson family. Builder Mike McKellop of Sierra Fine Custom Homes came on board as the home’s designer and builder and organizer of suppliers and contractors. Kristina also solicited the aid of Julianna Hagar of popular Fort Worth radio station WBAP, who helped promote Johnny Wilson’s story and solicit donations to the effort, as well as Scott Rathbun of Video General. The DFW area community rallied around the Sentinels Team, and several large scale fundraising events made a great difference in the length of the project. RE/MAX DFW Associates adopted Texas Sentinels Foundation and Johnny Wilson as a preferred charity in 2010, and hosted three separate events benefitting Johnny: A Heroes 5K Run, Charity Golf Tournament and Bowling Challenge which raised considerable sums for the project. Hayes also spearheaded a charity poker tournament in Southlake, which brought in donations from many community members. WBAP promoted the project on air throughout 2010 and took donations from listeners through their website. Johnny’s House was completed in early 2011, 14 months after the live on air announcement from WBAP’s Hal Jay. DFW Area Team Members
