The sound of clays being shattered coupled with the sweet smell of Texas BBQ permeated the air while more than 400 Texas Sentinels Foundation combat wounded veterans, TSF sponsors, donors and a host of shooting teams rallied to take home coveted OLNL 2019 trophies. The only break in the action came from the Commemorative Air Force Air Show and Flyover, the RE/MAX Skydiving Team demonstration as well as the epic CH-46 flyover and static display. The 2019 Operation Lock-N-Load Sporting Clays tournament raised money to support the mission of the Texas Sentinels Foundation to help build new lives for post 9/11 combat wounded veterans and award much need TSF Life Scholarships. The focus of the fundraising this year was to build a home in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area for a combat wounded Marine and Purple Heart recipient, SSGT Charles Lauersdorf as well as provide funds for approximately 130 TSF Life Scholarship requests. “Thank you for supporting our wounded military and giving my daddy a home!” exclaimed Aidan Medina, 6 year old son of Corporal Jesse Medina who was wounded on Christmas Day 2012 and received a TSF Home for the Holiday home the following year. The next in line to receive a TSF home, SSGT Charles Lauersdorf told the crowd, “Thank you is not enough for what I truly wish to tell all of you. You guys truly have made a difference in my life and in the lives of my children. Receiving a home from TSF and having the support of this crowd is one of the best things to have happened to me and I promise to pay it forward to other wounded veterans.”

To say they are a blessing would be an understatement. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hudson and all those that made bids for your incredible generosity that’ll no doubt lead to changed lives.” commented Marine SSGT Charles Lauersdorf.
