WHAT A BLAST! OPERATION LOCK N LOAD 2019 A HUGE SUCCESS

The sound of clays being shattered coupled with the sweet smell of Texas BBQ permeated the air while more than 400 Texas Sentinels Foundation combat wounded veterans, TSF sponsors, donors and a host of shooting teams rallied to take home coveted OLNL 2019 trophies. The only break in the action came from the Commemorative Air Force Air Show and Flyover, the RE/MAX Skydiving Team demonstration  as well as the epic CH-46 flyover and static display.  The 2019 Operation  Lock-N-Load Sporting Clays tournament raised money to support the mission of the Texas Sentinels Foundation to help build new lives for post 9/11 combat wounded veterans and award much need TSF Life Scholarships.  The focus of the fundraising this year was to build a home in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area for a combat wounded Marine and Purple Heart recipient, SSGT Charles Lauersdorf as well as provide funds for approximately 130 TSF Life Scholarship requests.  SEE PHOTOS HERE

“Thank you for supporting our wounded military and giving my daddy a home!” exclaimed Aidan Medina, 6 year old son of Corporal Jesse Medina who was wounded on Christmas Day 2012 and received a TSF Home for the Holiday home the following year.  The next in line to receive a TSF home, SSGT Charles Lauersdorf told the crowd, “Thank you is not enough for what I truly wish to tell all of you. You guys truly have made a difference in my life and in the lives of my children. Receiving a home from TSF and having the support of this crowd is one of the best things to have happened to me and I promise to pay it forward to other wounded veterans.”

The Texas Sentinels Foundation Board of Directors wishes to thank all our donors, sponsors, shooters and our dedicated volunteers who make it possible for  the mission to continue.

Fort Worth Marine to receive TSF home in 2019

The Texas Sentinels Foundation is proud to announce Marine SSGT Charles Lauersdorf, Purple Heart recipient and father of 4, will receive a 100% debt-free, mortgage-free, fully furnished home in the greater Fort Worth area in 2019. Charles joined the USMC in 2001 and completed 7 combat deployments. SSGT Lauersdorf was awarded a Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during the battle of Ramadi, Iraq.

“Charles is a very deserving home recipient.  He has been a great supporter of Texas Sentinels and has served his country beyond the call of duty.  We are honored to provide a home for this exceptional Marine and his beautiful family!” Clarified Jeanne Filip, Co-Founder of the Texas Sentinels Foundation.

Jason Stier, Benchmark Mortgage, has stepped up to serve as the TSF Home Team Leader. Jason and his wife Kirsten Stier, RE/MAX of Texas Senior Business Development Consultant, bring their own unique brand of appreciation and insight into veteran’s issues and the mentorship requirements to help combat wounded veterans rebuild their lives.

“Words could not possibly begin to express how honored I am. This is truly life changing for my kids and me and I am beyond grateful. I will do my best to pay it forward and be the best Ambassador for Texas Sentinels Foundation. It’s been an honor to be a champion for such a great cause over the last few years and am thrilled to be officially part of the TSF family.  To Richard and Jeanne Filip and the TSF Board of Directors, thank you so much for what you  do for our veterans. You are truly a first class charitable organization with a heart of gold.” declared Charles upon hearing the news of his selection during a TSF luncheon on Thursday afternoon.

Longhorn Auction Benefits Wounded Veterans

Longhorn Auction Benefits Wounded Veterans

The Texas Sentinels Foundations wishes to express our profound gratitude and thankfulness to Bill and Elizabeth Hudson, Hudson Longhorns, who donated Casanova’s Ginger at the Fort Worth Stockyards Longhorn Auction to benefit the numerous combat wounded veterans of The Texas Sentinels Foundation. More than $42,000 was raised to help build new lives for our combat wounded military veterans in the state of Texas.

“Some people just throw a yellow ribbon bumper sticker on their car, others, like the Hudson’s, go way above and beyond that and put meaningful actions behind their words. To say they are a blessing would be an understatement. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hudson and all those that made bids for your incredible generosity that’ll no doubt lead to changed lives.” commented Marine SSGT Charles Lauersdorf.

Thank you to the following bidders and supporters of the charity auction:
