A dream has finally come true for Retired Marine Corporal Donny Daughenbaugh and his family. On June 23rd, the 28-year-old Iraq veteran was presented with the keys to his new home in League City Texas. The Texas Sentinels Foundation was on hand to witness the homes presentation by the Sentinels of Freedom, League City and BABASOT, as well as another home presentation to Retired Army Sergeant Alex Reyes, who was also injured while serving in Iraq. The event was attended by the League City Mayor Toni Randall, as well as State Representative Larry Taylor, and a Texas Representative Ron Paul staff member to present flags that had been hung over the Capitol Building in the soldiers’ honor.
Music and sponsorship was provided by Houston radio station 100.3 KILT for the over 300 attendees. Terri Dawson of RE/MAX Select in Friendswood donated food and golf carts for easy transportation in the Texas heat. Donny and his family (wife Sarah and children Gabby and Kollin) are expected to move into their new home on July 2nd and begin their lives as a true Texans.
